H. Erizal Chaniago menyebut, jika nanti dirinya diberi amanah untuk menjadi salah satu wakil rakyat di Senayan, dia bertekad untuk memajukan produk-produk UMKM lokal yang ada di Luak Limopuluah, salah satunya Tenun Halaban tersebut, ulasnya
“Insya Allah, ini yang akan kita lakukan. Pertama promosinya digencarkan, lalu setelah viral akan kita bawa pameran ke Paris, Prancis. Nah, setelah produk ini ngetop baru kita bangun jalannya dan infrastruktur pembantu lainnya,” ujar politisi Gerindra nomor urut 2 pada Pemilu serentak 2024 itu.
Selain itu beliau mengatakan, “pembangunan demi pembangunan untuk memajukan Luak Limopuluah juga harus dilakukan. Sebab, Luak Limopuluah memiliki potensi yang sangat besar di segala lini yang harus dikembangkan.
Dalam pengembangan hasil tenun tersebut Erizal Chaniago menyatakan ,”Artinya kita Luak Limopuluah ini harus punya anggota DPR RI atau anggota dewan yang duduk di Senayan yang punya power untuk melakukan itu semua. Mereka ini harus lunya power untuk bisa memperjuangkan kesulitan-kesulitan masyarakat,” ungkap Erizal Chaniago yang akrab disapa Da Cal tersebut.
Saat ini katanya, banyak persoalan yang hadir ditengah-tengah masyarakat dan harus diselesaikan diantaranya ketidak berdayaan lembaga Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN), kurangnya promosi produk UMKM berbasis kearifan lokal, perlindungan kesehatan masyarakat, pembangunan infrastruktru yang tidak merata, ketersedian pupuk yang belum terjamin, pendidikan yang masih mahal bagi sebagian masyarakat, minimnya pembangunan SDM dan lainnya.
