Menurut Emull (35) salah satu warga kampung Cipadahilir sekali gus yang mengevakuasi, Bocah tersebut tenggelam saat bermain bersama 3 temannya di area Sungai yang dalam, tepatnya di bawah batu besar.
“Ada sekitar 4 anak kecil bermain dan berenang di area yang memang sepi dan jarang terpantau, dan kejadian itu terjadi sekitar pukul 13.30 WIB,” ujar emull saat di temui Awak Media, sabtu 17/02
Bocah yang masih duduk di bangku SD kelas 1 itu merupakan warga Kampung Cipadahilir, dan diduga tidak bisa berenang saat berada di perairan yang dalam.
“Saat dievakuasi, bocah tersebut sudah tidak sadarkan diri, dan evakuasinya dilakukan oleh saya sendiri yang kebetulan sedang tidak jauh dari lokasi,” Jelas Emull.
Emull menegaskan, lokasi bocah tenggelam tersebut terbilang tidak aman untuk digunakan sebagai ruang bermain, meski debit air terlihat tidak terlalu dalam.”Debit air memang tidak terlihat terlalu dalam, cuma memang bagi anak-anak dan dalamnya kurang lebih hanya 3 meter,” tambah Emull.
Setelah dievakuasi, korban langsung dibawa ke RSUD Cikalongwetan, untuk mendapatkan pertolongan medis. Namun, nyawanya tidak berhasil diselamatkan sehingga korban dibawa ke rumah duka dan jenazahnya dimakamkan di sekitar tempat tinggalnya.
Kepala Desa Mekarjaya, Obar Sobarna SI.P, saat di konfirmasi terkait Kejadian tersebut menyatakan, berdasarkan keterangan sejumlah saksi, kejadian tersebut bermula saat korban bersama tiga orang temannya pergi ke Sungai dengan maksud mencari ikan.
“Sesampainya di Sungai, korban dan teman lainnya turun ke sungai, namun korban berenang terlalu tengah,” ungkapnya pada Sabtu, 17/02/2024 Siang.
Hasil penelusuran Awak Media Bersama Karang Taruna Desa Mekarjaya, dugaan sementara dan keterangan saksi menyebutkan bahwa korban tenggelam di Sungai karena diduga tidak bisa berenang.
“Pihak keluarga korban merasa terpukul atas kejadian tersebut, serta menerima kejadian tersebut sebagai musibah, dan selanjutnya korban dimakamkan,” Kata Jajang Mulyana, Selaku Karang Taruna Majujaya.
